MAJOR FITNESS Drone3
Pros
Extensive functionality, to include numerous accessory items
2,500-pound maximum static load capacity
Incredibly small total footprint
Cons
Not the longest safety bars/arms
The MAJOR FITNESS Drone3 combines functionality and affordability in an incredibly compact package.
Its 2,500-pound load capacity is enough to satisfy the vast majority of home gym lifters and its numerous inclued attachment and accessory items negate long searches for additional, 3rd-party gear.
The MAJOR FITNESS Drone3 straddles the line between “entry-level” home gym power racks and “inexpensive and functional”, enjoying the best aspects of both worlds. Trainees who prioritize barbell movements in a “rack-first” setup but still want cables for accessories and hypertrophy exercises are the most likely to benefit here.
The objectively high static load capacity (2,500 pounds) places it closer to “legit, almost commercial grade” rack territory despite its modest, but not overly conspicuous base model price. The plethora of included accessories and attachments (cable crossover handles, dip bars, low lat bar, etc.) will allow for more than sufficient functionality for most lifters.
Like many of its brethren, the Drone3’s steel isn’t overly thick and its 2×2-inch uprights aren’t the most robust on the market. Additionally, those looking for Smith Machine functionality will have to look elsewhere. However, as a “power rack with a little more”, the Drone3 is still a legitimate home gym centerpiece item.
